Rates quoted are for 7 days rental and includes unlimited mileage, third party, fire and theft insurance and collision damage waiver + 24hr Travelling Assistance (breakdown cover). Price is for 7  days hire, additional days are at 1/7 of the weekly rate per extra day. For hires of less than 7 days, take 1/5 of the weekly rate and multiply by the  number of days; 5 and 6 days are taken at the weekly rate. (Note: minimum 3 days hire at 1/2 weekly rate). Where rentals overlap seasons, the rate is governed by  the rate at the start of the hire.

    There is an  insurance excess payable in the event of loss or damage to the vehicle which is 600 € for groups A,B and C, €1200 for  groups D,E,I  and  J,  €1800 for groups F,G,H and N and €2500 for the remaining groups. This excess is taken by credit card imprint at the  start of your hire;  when the car is returned and inspected the excess is returned to you, assuming there is no damage. In the event of you not having a major credit  card, payment may be made in cash, but it should be remembered that the insurance excess amount will have to be paid out and returned to you  in Euros at the end of your rental. By using a credit card, the value of the insurance excess is only taken from your card in the event of a claim.

     Please note, car hire companies do not apportion blame - if you rent one of their cars and it is returned damaged, it is your responsibility. For  this reason you must always check over the vehicle when you accept it and ensure that any damage, missing trim etc., is recorded on the hire  documents - and you get a copy. This is very important as any damage not so recorded will be deemed to have been caused by you. Your liability  however is limited to the insurance excess amount. Note however that the wheels, tyres, glass and locks are not normally covered and in addition  lost keys are also chargeable to you as  they are specific to the car and expensive and time consuming to replace. This is normal practice for hire  companies the world over - even when the small print does not spell it out to you! The insurance (damage) excess can be waived ("bought-out"  and reduced to nil) by paying an additional premium of between €6 and €12 per day depending on the vehicle group and is payable locally in  advance. This is a useful add-on, particularly with the bigger vehicles, which you may wish to take advantage of. You may be offered additional  Personal Accident Insurance  (€4.50 per day), you are not obliged to take this as normal travel insurance usually covers this, in any event.

     Collecting cars from the airport is subject to a charge of €25 payable by the client. This is an airport tax and cannot be paid in advance even with pre-booking  confirmations. Vehicles delivered to and collected from Villa La Quiete or Casa do Vale are free of delivery charges.

     The vehicle is delivered/collected with a full tank of fuel. You must return the car full; in the event that the car is not full, they will charge you for  the fuel used at a rate higher than you would have paid.

     Vehicles may be driven out of Portugal but there is an additional charge for the necessary Green Card which is €75 per rental.

      Groups H to X are all subject to availability.

      Personal accident insurance is available at €4.50 per day. (€25,000 per passenger and €2,500 for medical expenses)

      Additional drivers named on the rental contract are subject to a surcharge of €18.

      Out of hours delivery/collection at Faro between 00.00 am and 06.00 am is subject to a charge of €17 per rental.

      Baby/child safety seats are available at €5.00 per day up to a maximum of €70 per rental.

      Roof racks are available at €6.00 per day (€18.00 minimum) up to a maximum of €84 per rental.

      Young driver charge 21 - 25 years is €4.00 per day. (Must have held a valid license for at least 12 months.)
